“unalienable rights…life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

Need I say more!
sorry. i have been busy looking for a job. anybody looking for a peruvian programmer, web developer, blogger? pass the word around. if i don’t get a job soon, i’m going to have to start selling my precious peruvian blood; check this out
chau for now.
while searching for news about peru, i saw this headline:
FIFA suspends Peru from international football. what a shame! i did not read the article, and as much as i have always been a soccer player and avid sports spectator, i could not read further. there is a saying:“there’s no crying in baseball”, there should be another:”there’s no politics in sports”
happy turkey!
one of those american holidays that is not celebrated in peru, is thanksgiving. it is all about eating a lot and watching football(futbol americano)
in the united states thanksgiving day was originally “a harvest festival”. according to the wikipedia,” traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general”. peruvians can easily adapt to celebrate this holiday because we can eat a lot. turkey is the required main serving, usually accompanied by cranberry sauce(not found in peru), stuffing(also absent in peruvian cuisine), and pumpkin pie(ditto), i think it is celebrated on the last thursday of the month of november, followed by the highly commercialized black friday, which supposedly kicks-off the christmas shopping season, with unbelievable sales specials. hordes of shoppers hunting for bargains stand on line overnight waiting for stores to open at 5 in the morning. this year, because of the economy, retailers are slashing their prices even more.
not far rom from nj, in nice suburban long island, seven high school kids decided to hunt for “spics” , from newsday:…immigrant killed because of race
i am afraid for myself, and my family, and my friends, and all peruvians in the united states, and all hispanics, and all immigrants. and for mr obama, he’s such a nice man. i am so afraid for his well being, and his wife, and his beautiful daughters. please pray with me for a peace on earth.
if you want to experience the gravity of the situation,
please google this:kill spics
on a day that when hispanics turned to the polls to elect the candidate for ‘change’, in the hope that he keeps his promise to resolve immigration and economic issues, one of my heroes, “…america’s moral compass that kept our scientific and technological desires to play God in check.”, michael crichton succumbed to cancer. as you know, i did not vote for mr. obama, i do owe him a tremendous amount of respect and admiration. we shall see..
back to the vote, “…latinos, more than 70 percent of whom voted for Mr. Obama in battleground states, can take pride in a record turnout across the country and the political impact it is bound to have in other arenas. about 10 million latinos voted this year, up from 7.5 million in 2004, according to early exit polling data analyzed by the national association of latino wlected & appointed officials. the most striking aspect of this election… was the return of larger numbers of latinos to the democratic party.”
